Welcome to odyssey theatre

Meet the team behind the magic…

Odyssey Theatre began as a conversation in a train carriage on Barbenheimer Day, lamenting how difficult it was as young creatives to find producers for our work. On that fateful day we asked: ‘why don’t we just do it ourselves?’

Our focus from the start has been to stage innovative and immersive theatre from emerging artists. We acknowledge that traditional theatre might not be for everyone, so rather than trying to lure new theatregoers to our stage, we’ll come to you. We perform in heritage houses, outdoor parks, and even on the streets of Sydney.

We are also very proud to produce only original works from a variety of new and exciting writers. Have a script you’ve written that you think sounds like our vibe? Get in touch with us. We want to be part of growing Australia’s independent theatre scene and a huge part of that is supporting each other and giving back.

2024 is slated to be an exciting year with at least five(!) original plays planned. We hope to see you at one of our performances soon and invite you to set sail with us and be part of our Odyssey Theatre journey.

Chookas!
